Changing circumstances lead to new perspectives and innovative solutions. Due to COVID-19, hosting a physical event with 2.000 participants from over 50 countries in an old venue in Groningen, The Netherlands, was simply not feasible. Faced with this challenge Odyssey decided to transform the Hackathon into a completely online experience.
Existing social, meeting and event software wouldn’t suffice, as these tools don’t support multi-stakeholder collaboration processes. That is why Momentum was born. A new vibrant 3D space to meet, collaborate in real-time, and work towards solutions on a truly global scale. Productivity meets Metaverse.
On November 13-15, 2020, over 2.000 participants from 105 selected teams, 300+ experts, challenge lead partners and other relevant stakeholders and users gathered in Momentum. Together they built solutions for 21 challenges linked to the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
These challenges covered a variety of domains such as energy transition, acute healthcare, conflict prevention, conscious cities, critical infrastructure, logistics, and supply chain, nature conservation, real estate, and digital identity.

Humanity is in transition. Odyssey invites you to be part of it.
Humanity is now in the transition phase, which shows that our capacity is even more than ever in interbeingness and collective mindset. While new stories are being created, we still have the Polaris, the North Star of the vision embodied in a story of participation in the evolution of life, rather than domination. This is the compass we follow, and we invite you to be part of it.
